Singapore Heritage Festival at National Museum May 2016 – sales of Nonya Kueh and Ondeh-making workshop for families
Ondeh Ondeh
These symbolic Nonya sweets are still painstakingly handmade till this very day. Experience an exhilarating burst of molten premium Gula Melaka shooting down your throat with every bite you take of these chewy sweet potato balls. A very popular end to any meal.
An exciting yearly affair, the Singapore Heritage Festival is always conducted with a huge bang!
In 2016 old-school mobile pushcarts lined the entrance of the Singapore National Museum and all the selected hawkers showcased their wares to the enthusiastic throngs of people queuing to get their hands (and mouths) on the local delights.
Excited families also signed up to learn the art of making HarriAnn’s Signature Ondeh Ondeh. Children from as young as 5 years old joined in the fun with their siblings and parents to learn the trade secrets of making the perfect Ondeh – which bursts in your mouth, not in your hands.
All went home hands full of piping hot balls of edible heaven and smiles of satisfaction on their faces!
