On a blustery yet thankfully-sunny day in Melbourne, Australia, more than 6,000 Singaporeans turned up to satisfy their cravings for local Singaporean food at Flemington Racecourse Road.
Our icy fingers worked non-stop from 0800 till 1730 to conjure up little sweet potato balls of burst-in-the-mouth goodness (ondeh) and intriguing salty-sweet Kueh Talam, much to the delight of the people in the snaking queues. We clocked an amazing 1,309 servings by the end of the day!
We are thankful to have been invited by Makansutra and Overseas Singaporean Unit for this awesome opportunity to serve our Nation, doing what we do best- creating authentic Nonya Kueh, edible and delicious bite-sized pieces of Heritage for everyone to savor and enjoy!
